the forcast from noaa calls for high of 30 degrees at stevens at 4000ft. Prolly rain or at least sloppy snow and rain at snoq for sure. Was raining at snoq yesterday.

It tried to rain only briefly at the base of Stevens, around 2PM on Friday the 1st (it never really did). It snowed off and on all day.

Really weird snow conditions up there. We did some backside runs and some slack-country, and found funky breakable crust from the night before on the top half of the runs, and fun lighter powder without a crust on the bottom half of the runs. :crosseye: On our last slackcountry run we did set off a few isolated slabs in the trees on steeper terrain (things had warmed up).

I was up the Commonwealth basin today. 2" wet on top of hard breakable crust with 1' soft snow beneath that.

It was cooling off when I left and snowing hard off and on.

Might drop another couple inches tonight at that rate.

Pretty un fun skiing.
