terrible_ted Posted July 30, 2001 Posted July 30, 2001 Eerie, I was going to post this morning asking about Barrabes... Anyways, I still want to hear - are the posted prices what you pay (in the US)? Is there any tariffs/fees that get tacked on? Did you order via the web or e-mail - any hassles? Thanks, -t  Quote
Winter Posted July 31, 2001 Posted July 31, 2001 Most of the time you won't get stuck paying duty, but watch out. I placed an order from Cham3S (www.cham3s.com) and got a collection notice 4 months later, because I never paid duty. Most of the time you never get stuck with it, but sometimes they'll get you. Jon_Bernard Posted August 11, 2001 Posted August 11, 2001 I've recently been very frustrated with Barrabes. I originally ordered Grivel G12 Newmatics. They sent me Crampomatics. I complained, and they paid for shipping the new ones to me and the Crampomatics back to them. But the second time around they sent the 2Fs! No word yet on what they'll do this time. Quote
Neri Posted August 18, 2001 Posted August 18, 2001 Think I'll give'm a try. For starter its only Grivel picks These suckers are $36 a pop, anywhere in the US. I ordered 2, for $17 and change a pop. After shipping it came to $46, for the two. Now lets see what happens.... Â ------------------ Neri Carmi nericarmi@yahoo.com [This message has been edited by Neri (edited 08-17-2001).] Quote
Neri Posted August 31, 2001 Posted August 31, 2001 Barrabes is pretty good when it come to shipping their order promptly. BUT the courier company DHL, is a bunch of Stupid morons it took 2 days for the package to arrive from Spain to Kennedy airport in NYC; and, it took 9 days for DHL to deliver the package to Manhattan, NYC some 7 miles away from the airport. verticalswamp Posted August 31, 2001 Posted August 31, 2001 Anyone tried ordering stuff into Canada? Or skis? Their prices on skate skis are pretty hot, but I can see the saving getting wiped out by shipping and duty. C Quote
Alex Posted September 13, 2001 Posted September 13, 2001 just an update on this continuing success story, 60m 8.5 Edelweiss dry rope, 75$ arrived in TWO DAYS!! from Spain. Three Cheers! Alex Quote
wdietsch Posted September 13, 2001 Posted September 13, 2001 Alex, How much was shipping? Any duty? Did you get one or two? If two, did you have a color choice? Quote
verticalturtle Posted September 14, 2001 Author Posted September 14, 2001 Recent world events should be taken into consideration in an estimate of the time it will take to get any gear from Barrabes or other companies..... Quote
