tanstaafl Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Awesome. I've been up to the Necklace Valley in the summer and it was sooooo pretty; I'd love to get back into that area. Looks like you had some good turns. Excellent Bozo the Clown picture! Quote
AlpineK Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Shouldn't that be Bozo de Clown? Nice pictures! Quote
Gary_Yngve Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 awesome! summit chief does really look like south side of stuart! what was the issue w/ getting over to chimney rock/overcoat? cornice/cliffs? Quote
ryanl Posted May 27, 2009 Author Posted May 27, 2009 We only had about 80 ft of rap cord, and the cliffs between us and the col were well beyond 40ft. We could have retraced our steps a bit and skied down approx 1500 ft before taking an easy skin to the col, like Volken suggests, but that would have guaranteed another night out. We didn't want to get caught on steep south slopes late in the day so we decided to just turn around. Quote
