Kevin_climber Posted April 26, 2002 Posted April 26, 2002 Hi: May be seeking replacement partner for Foraker in late May/early June in Alaska. I've been there before and have all the gear needed. Prefer someone with expedition experience, though not absolutely required. I have climbed in Alaska, Oregon, Washington, Peru 4-5 times, Argentina, and planning Equitor and Bolivia. Want to climb SE Ridge of Foraker. Going over Crosson is not a favorite option. respond to: kevin@chernofflaw.com Regards Kevin Quote
MtnHigh Posted May 6, 2002 Posted May 6, 2002 Kevin, Perhaps I'll see ya on Foraker. Three Portland climbers are leaving on 5/31 for AK. First stop is to climb/acclimizing on Foraker. Then rest up and head for Denali's W Rib. Look for the Red Eyed White Boys Pete Quote
rbw1966 Posted May 6, 2002 Posted May 6, 2002 Which route are you doing on Foraker? You doing the entire west rib or the "riblet" (a.k.a upper west rib)? Quote
Bug Posted May 6, 2002 Posted May 6, 2002 We'll see you on our way down. We are three doing the Full Rib alpine style starting May 18. "Alpine style" is a relative term in Alaska. No double carries and no sled. Can you say hemeroid? Quote
Cpt.Caveman Posted May 6, 2002 Posted May 6, 2002 See Caveman climb treacherous Tooth alpine style with Conrad Anker and Will Gadd I climbed the Tooth Alpine style. I am giving a slide show at TheNorthFace in seattle. Drinks and snacks are free. Donations\beers accepted. Quote

We used one sled. That was a BAD idea. If I had it to do all over again. . . I guess you won't be taking a lot of beer with you. See ya in Talkeetna. Look for the pink "action" suit. Quote
MtnHigh Posted May 7, 2002 Posted May 7, 2002 rbw1966/Kevin, We are climbing the Sultana on Foraker. Foraker is primarily an acclimization climb. Our ultimate goal is a fast and light ascent of Denali's W Rib from the NE Kahiltna fork. The pre-acclimization will eliminate numerous days off the Rib climb and cut many pounds of food and fuel from the packs. Watch out for the Red Eyed White Boys Pete Quote
Bug Posted May 7, 2002 Posted May 7, 2002 Pink action suits and red-eyed white boys? I think I see a theme developing here. No beer. Just gu. This isn't Montana. They won't even let me bring my sheep. Quote
rbw1966 Posted May 7, 2002 Posted May 7, 2002 I got an inflatable one I'm smuggling (snuggling?) in. Its called the "Love Ewe". Maybe I'll see you boys at Pro Row. Quote
KeithKSchultz Posted May 7, 2002 Posted May 7, 2002 I had one of those. My first wife popped it. It was an ugly divorce. Quote
