kevbone Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Weird......my sisters house in Beaverton has 6 inches of snow in her front yard. My house in Vancouver has NO tracable snow. NONE. Not even on roof tops. Bummer......the paper stated this morning that Clack county "missed the wrath of the storm". I think they should reword that to "got left out of the party". Sucks......were is my snow? Quote
rmncwrtr Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 We've got snow on this side of Clark County. The kids were sledding and snowboarding down the neighbor's steep driveway yesterday. Quote
denalidave Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Schools are canceled here in the Gorge and we barely have a skiff of snow at my house. What's up with that? I guess some other areas up higher got almost a foot, but come on. Quote
kevbone Posted December 15, 2008 Author Posted December 15, 2008 The paper says the real storm will be on Wed......bring it on!!!!!! Quote

denalidave Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 I'm still stuck at the in-laws in Tacoma but my mom tells me we have an 8-10 ft snow drift blocking our front door back home. Hoping the roads open up so I can get back there and dig out. Quote

tvashtarkatena Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 The neighborhood is filled with parents mushing sleds and saucers bearing kids and groceries, or maybe the kids ARE groceries...has it come to that yet? Many streets on the ridge are unofficially 'closed for tubing'. There are cross country skiiers all over the place. I only wish it were colder so that I could take my hockey skates out on Greenlake again. With everyone off work, all the smaller, walkable retailers on the ridge are doing fine. The alcohol distribution stations are booming. I wish every winter was like this. Quote
ivan Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 The neighborhood is filled with parents mushing sleds and saucers bearing kids and groceries i just got back from dragging a xmas tree and 2 kids home on a sled - i'm wondering if it was a free tree? the entire site was devoid of people, despite being clearly open for business - maybe i shoudl go back and pay later?
