billcoe Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Boobist. Here's real change. Real real change that is really changing direct from the CIA free press. I think this means we have never been at war with Oceana. Link Says: "EXCLUSIVE: Agenda disappears from Obama Web site Stephen Dinan (Contact) Tuesday, November 11, 2008 President-elect Barack Obama (Associated Press) Over the weekend President-elect Barack Obama scrubbed Change.gov, his transition Web site, deleting most of what had been a massive agenda copied directly from his campaign Web site. Gone are the promises on how an Obama administration would handle 25 different agenda items - everything from Iraq and immigration to taxes and urban policy - all items laid out on his campaign Web site, www.BarackObama.com. Instead, the official agenda on Change.gov has been boiled down to one vague paragraph proclaiming a plan “to revive the economy, to fix our health care, education, and social security systems, to define a clear path to energy independence, to end the war in Iraq responsibly and finish our mission in Afghanistan, and to work with our allies to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, among many other domestic and foreign policy objectives.” “We are currently retooling the Web site,” said Obama spokesman Nick Shapiro. The site went active on Wednesday and was available to the public Thursday. The agenda items, which were active for at least part of the weekend, appear to have been deleted by late Saturday. hmmm: remember, we have never been at war with Oceana. Quote

billcoe Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Following up now and pointing out a great change, check this amazing (good) shite out: Link Now THIS is real change! DAMN nice to see! Baby steps maybe, but it's a great start. Honesty and transparency was promised, good to see it happening. "WASHINGTON — Turning to campaign promises in which he pledged sweeping ethics restrictions, President-elect Barack Obama will bar lobbyists from helping to pay the costs of his transition to power or working for it in any area in which they have represented clients in the last year, his transition team said Tuesday. Mr. Obama’s aides indicated that they expected the rules to apply to his inauguration as well as the transition, but said they had yet to make a final decision on how the inauguration would be paid for. John D. Podesta, a co-chairman of the Obama transition, called the restraints “the strictest, the most far-reaching ethics rules of any transition team in history.” “If someone has lobbied during the past 12 months, they’re prohibited from working in the fields of policy on which they lobbied and will have to cease all lobbying activities during their work on the transition,” Mr. Podesta said, speaking to reporters in the first official briefing by the transition team." It goes on, check the link. Quote
marylou Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Iraqi Shiite politicians are indicating that they will move faster toward a new security agreement about American troops, and a Bush administration official said he believed that Iraqis could ratify the agreement as early as the middle of this month. “Before, the Iraqis were thinking that if they sign the pact, there will be no respect for the schedule of troop withdrawal by Dec. 31, 2011,” said Hadi al-Ameri, a powerful member of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, a major Shiite party. “If Republicans were still there, there would be no respect for this timetable. This is a positive step to have the same theory about the timetable as Mr. Obama.” Quote

mattp Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Over the weekend President-elect Barack Obama scrubbed Change.gov, his transition Web site, deleting most of what had been a massive agenda copied directly from his campaign Web site. I don't know about change.com, but it doesn't look to me as if obama.com has changed that much since last week although I suppose it may just LOOK as comprehensive as before but have dropped all the substance. I wonder if the Washington Times is news you can believe in. Quote
