fettster
We saw this block of rock hiking the Dark Divide a bit over a week ago. Anyone ever climb this? I don't know how good the rock is, but the northeast (right) face looks like a good challenge.

fettster
Is that "Dark Mountain" or "The Wedge"? Actually this point doesn't have an official name, but we gave it that nickname when we were there. "The Wedge" is just to the NW of Jumbo Peak: http://mapper.acme.com/?ll=46.31750,-121.77336&z=15&t=T The Dark Divide is located between Mt Adams and MSH, south of Randle, WA. Here are a couple links: http://www.wta.org/action/current-issues/dark-divide http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Divide As alluded to motorbikes have left their mark on the landscape. Here's an example:

ivan
(minus the poison oak) you don't get anything near the gorge minus the oak! that lingering zombie-skin thing simply serves as a pleasant reminder over the weeks to come what is was that was worth so much pus
