minx Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Nice to know that I won’t be a burden on the health care system Quote
JayB Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 I recall reading a couple of studies a while ago that showed that the net public revenue yield from smokers was positive. The findings were that the taxes that they paid on their cigarettes plus the Social Security contributions that they made, but never collected due to early mortality outweighed any excess health costs that they imposed on the system.... selkirk Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 My great grandfather smoke cigars, ate raw sausage (and fed it to anyone who wasn't old enough to know better) and drank (in moderation) until he was 94. Quote
archenemy Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 I don't care how long I live: I don't think I could possibly drink more. There just aren't enough hours in the day. Plus, I need to spend some of them hours fucking and some of them hours cussing. I'm not giving up any of my bad habits. Quote
