I am reminded of the Buddhist concept of how polar opposites are nearly identical. Where the new person just starting on the road to enlightenment is at the closes point to enlightenment, and as they study their path the continually are moving away from enlightenment until they are nearing the end of their path only to find they are where they originally started from. That is a concept where life is not a straight line but rather a circle.
