MichelleStiles Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 [font:Comic Sans MS] [/font] I Lost my wedding ring on Mt. Stuart. It is in a small black bag. I believe it fell out of my pack at the Summit on Sunday Sept 2nd. Please help me find it! Thank you! Quote
Winter Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 yeesh. sorry to hear that. went down to a wedding in san diego this weekend, and my buddy lost his ring in the pacific ocean less than 48 hrs after getting married. luckily it was insured. Quote
Bug Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 Hmmmmmmm. What else was in this "little black bag"? Do we have to marry you if we find it? Â Sorry about your lost ring. I may be up there over the 15th-16th. I'll have a look around. PM me if you have any other details. Quote
MichelleStiles Posted September 7, 2007 Author Posted September 7, 2007 I did the north ridge. I believe that it fell out at the summit. Enjoy the trip it is a great climb. Thanks for looking. Quote
builder206 Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Were you in the party of two young ladies that encountered a party of six Monday morning heading to Ingalls? We did not notice anything on the approach nor on our exit, which took us down the gully beneath Ingalls and to the lake before heading back over the pass. You say that you think you lost the bag on Stuart's summit, so my input is not particularly helpful, but I'm just sayin'. Â Coincidentally, the lone woman in our party had lost two wedding rings previously (same husband, she emphasizes). She adamantly refuses to remove her third ring now, regardless of climbing conditions. Quote
MichelleStiles Posted September 12, 2007 Author Posted September 12, 2007 Yep, we ran into you guys on our way that morning. What a beautiful area! I learned my lesson. I am going to put it on a chain... Quote
catbirdseat Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Well it's a small world. I was with Builder206 that day. You gals impressed us with the story of your climb that day. Quote

That truly sukcs My wedding ring always stays at home or attached to my keychain by a little screw link when I'm climbing, Mrs. Selkirk's just stays home. No real need for a diamond once your off the ground. Quote
ivan Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 I am going to put it on a chain... Â hey, that's how i lost my first wedding ring! jogging on the beach - didn't want the ring slipping off my sweaty fingers while running, so put in on a chain around my neck - last 100 yards i picked up the pace as fast as i could go only to have the jostling cause the clasp to come undone - ring falls on sand - my hand was 3 inches from grabbing it before the surf rolled over it, sending it all the way back to africa (but not until i dug up a damn acre of beach before throwing in the towel) Â Quote
kurthicks Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 some use the "ring string" -- a small loop of 3mm cord tied with a double fishermans a la your prussik cord. girth hitch the piece of spendy metal to the cord and voila! Quote
