high_on_rock Posted July 19, 2007 Author Posted July 19, 2007 the War on Poverty is a crock of crap and a waste of money, just like the War on Drugs. Net change = zero. Great ROI! _________________________ All a matter of opinion and perspective. Trent Lott would also argue that the civil rights movement was a waste of time and money, and we would have been better listening to strom thurman. Quote
rob Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 JFK is to Bush as Vietnam is to Iraq? Just saying. not even the same. You're right -- JFK was smart enough to start considering withdrawing.... Quote

fig8 Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 For the longest time, I though GW was just Dan Quayle in disguise, but the more I heard GW speak, I realized that can't be right. GW makes Quayle look like a member of Mensa. Quote
TREETOAD Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Come listen to my story bout a man named Jeb. He was an old mountaineer barely kept his family fed. Then one day while shootin' at some food, up from the ground came a bubblin' crude. Quote
murraysovereign Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 JFK is to Bush as Vietnam is to Iraq? Just saying. not even the same. True dat. JFK got drawn into a civil war in Vietnam after the French came to their senses and pulled out. Bush created his very own civil war in Iraq and is now trying to figure a way to get out, all the while criticizing the French for having enough sense to not get drawn in. Quote
