And while in the hospital, she must see parents with kids who are sick but curable. How could she not feel empathy for them? So I think the traumatic event that happened to her baby just screwed her head all up and she's beyond rational thought. Instead of trying to accept that we are mortal and shit happens she's gone off the rails. She needs help. What can you do about it? In this case I think it's time for the state to step in.
