viktor Posted June 20, 2001 Posted June 20, 2001 Today's Leavenworth Echo reports "numerous" car break-ins at Johnny Creek/Eight-Mile on June 9th. The scumbags may still be around. A word of warning if you're camping around here. Quote
gapertimmy Posted June 21, 2001 Posted June 21, 2001 perhaps we could form a militia of climbers armed with ice tools and bottles of coors to patrol the suspect areas.... Quote
miker Posted June 21, 2001 Posted June 21, 2001 COORS??? I assume you would be forcing that down the throat of the transgressor as no self-respecting climber should drink that swill, especially not in the Pacific-Northwest with the plethora (that means a lot) of fine local brews. I'm a porter/stout man myself (but I am hoping to lose a few more pounds) I say we take him/her up to the middle of a nice big slab somewhere and coat his hands and feet in Vaseline and let him make his own way down. ------------------ Â Quote
Bronco Posted June 21, 2001 Posted June 21, 2001 Catch the scounrels, kidnap them and haul them to the North Cascades where we chain them to the base of a tree, douse them with honey, BBQ sauce and used Maxi-pads as bait for the grizzlies we would be hunting. Quote
nolanr Posted June 22, 2001 Posted June 22, 2001 Bronco, Maybe do all of the above, but drag them behind a slow moving vehicle. Is there such a thing as trolling for bears? Quote
wdietsch Posted June 22, 2001 Posted June 22, 2001 I say haul @$%&!%'s to the top of Midway and throw them onto the highway Quote
pope Posted June 22, 2001 Posted June 22, 2001 I never think one should take the law into his own hands. Has anybody called the authorities? Quote
Kyle Posted June 22, 2001 Posted June 22, 2001 It's good to see these lowlifes actually get nabbed once in a while. Beheading's too good for em... I say lash them to a charred trunk along the Snow Creek trail, let the ticks and ants slowly devour them, then hang their dessicated carcass by the parking lot as a warning to the rest. (From http://www.nps.gov/morningreport 01-281 - Point Reyes NS (CA) - Car Clouting Arrest A new seasonal ranger on one of his first training patrols noticed a suspicious person and vehicle at a trailhead parking lot on June 5th. He and his field training officer investigated and discovered that a car had been broken into through a smashed window. A deputy was called to assist in pursuing and apprehending the suspect, who fled the scene in his truck. Subsequent investigation by rangers revealed that the suspect had evidently thrown purses and numerous belongings he had stolen from other vehicles out his window along the road while fleeing. He has been connected with several other car clouting incidents in the area over the last few weeks. Charges have been filed through the county. [Karyl Yeston, DR, PORE, 6/15] Â Quote
Cpt.Caveman Posted June 22, 2001 Posted June 22, 2001 I prefer to have some interesting hood ornaments. Or maybe we can stick the heads on top of road signs along the canyon road, or perhaps at the entrance to my campsite.. Quote
verticalswamp Posted June 22, 2001 Posted June 22, 2001 We get a huge number of break-ins up here on long weekends, and I've always figured we should have a lottery. The winner/loser gets to camp out all weekend overlooking the parking lot, dressed in a gille suit and armed with an SSG69. Plug the perps, but leave one alive, with horrible wounds. He gets to be the story teller... There's a story from the N.African war about a patrol of Ghurkas topping a bunch of sleeping Germans, except one, who was ringed with the heads. Wakey wakey. Quote
