John Frieh Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 For Select 1 first edition the crux will be EDMR For Select 1 second edition the crux will be Yokum Hey Jim: any plans for Select 2 second edition? If so are you taking nominations for additional climbs? Quote
scottgg Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 In Select 1 first edition I'm short 5... Hi John! I saw you at Mark Westman's slide show on Wenesday, but I was too shy to come up and say howdy Based on your previous posts, I'm guessing those five climbs are: DC - Rainier Backbone Ridge-Dragontail Serpentine Ridge-Dragontail Triple Couloirs-Dragontail Colchuck Glacier-Dragontail Am I right? What about the rest of you who are getting close to ticking them all, which routes do you have left? Quote
John Frieh Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 A smart card player keeps his cards on his chest Previous posts huh? Stalker You should have introduced yourself at the slideshow... I don't bite Quote
scottgg Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 "Maybe I can blame in on the fact that I this was my first time in to Colchuck Lake..." Not a stalker, but a fan of both your writing and your climbs. Your Curtis Ridge and Gunsite climb were both super inspiring, maybe next summer I'll get up them also! Quote
John Frieh Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Good climbs but go do DNB on Bear while you still can. As good as CNR on Stuie IMO (though more wild alpine feel and no crowds). Stalker Quote
dbconlin Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 I think if you descend a classic after ascending a harder classic, that should count for both. That way you can do two at once... and maybe it will enable wayne to get his adams routes out of the way and john to get down the dc. Quote
Blake Posted December 9, 2006 Author Posted December 9, 2006 Has Eve Dearborne Memorial Route been climbed more than once? Any select climbs (first volume/edition) still waiting a 2nd ascent? Quote
pms Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 good one Wayne, thanks for reminding about the Pencil. Quote
Blake Posted December 9, 2006 Author Posted December 9, 2006 Did the Skoog route on the East side of Gunsight ever get climbed again before cllapsing? The West side Nelson route hasn't been repeated along the original line the whole way. Quote
eric8 Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 I always assumed the Pencil second ascent was by Matt Kerns and Pat Mcnerthey (sp) or at least the photos in the guidebooks make it look that way Quote
Sol Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 anyone make the third ascent of the dissapearing floor route on hardy yet? that face would be killer in winter conditions when all the kitty litter is frozen. Quote
