jon
i suggest leaving mono lake after 10pm, that way you can avoid paying the $20 entrance fee! BOOO YAHHHHHH!
Lambone
Good call Jon. If you really want to be slick you can get a small square gas station reciept, about 1in. by 2in. Make sure it's faded with purple ink, then you can flash it on your way in and out at your lesiure. Becarefull, they won't like you if you get caught. And scope out the stuff around Saddlebag Lake just outside the gate. No hassels, awsome peaks, less tourists! Chepe
Does anyone know if the highway is open coming from the east via Mono Lake? Smart ass remarks invited too
freeclimb9
the Tioga Pass is historically open from Memorial Day till the first snows of autumn. There have only been a few years of exceptional snowfall when that hasn't been the case. (And I've been nabbed for the entrance fee in the wee hours of the morning, too).
