ScottP Posted May 31, 2001 Posted May 31, 2001 There's a reason it's called CASCADEclimbers.com Anyway, according to this website, http://www.monobasinresearch.org/data/tiogapass.htm and this one, http://www.yosemitegold.com/yosemite/slide99.htm Tioga Pass opened May 12th. Quote

ScottP Posted May 31, 2001 Posted May 31, 2001 You call me a Bonehead, but it took me all of 35 seconds to find TWO websites with the requested information.:0 Have fun in the Meadows. Quote
Cpt.Caveman Posted May 31, 2001 Posted May 31, 2001 Tank you mon, I dont have time to do the dirty work at the moment Quote
Lambone Posted June 1, 2001 Posted June 1, 2001 Don't forget to change your oil before going up the hill, and check your brakes before heading back down! Have fun. Quote
jon Posted June 1, 2001 Posted June 1, 2001 i suggest leaving mono lake after 10pm, that way you can avoid paying the $20 entrance fee! BOOO YAHHHHHH! Quote
Lambone Posted June 1, 2001 Posted June 1, 2001 Good call Jon. If you really want to be slick you can get a small square gas station reciept, about 1in. by 2in. Make sure it's faded with purple ink, then you can flash it on your way in and out at your lesiure. Becarefull, they won't like you if you get caught. And scope out the stuff around Saddlebag Lake just outside the gate. No hassels, awsome peaks, less tourists! Chepe Posted June 1, 2001 Author Posted June 1, 2001 Does anyone know if the highway is open coming from the east via Mono Lake? Smart ass remarks invited too Quote
freeclimb9 Posted June 2, 2001 Posted June 2, 2001 the Tioga Pass is historically open from Memorial Day till the first snows of autumn. There have only been a few years of exceptional snowfall when that hasn't been the case. (And I've been nabbed for the entrance fee in the wee hours of the morning, too). Quote
Brandon_Workman Posted June 3, 2001 Posted June 3, 2001 Actually, I would have to say 6 out of the 10 years that I lived in Mammoth Lakes the pass was not open by Memorial Day. Have fun tuolomne rules!! Quote
Brandon_Workman Posted June 3, 2001 Posted June 3, 2001 Dont forget to stop at tioga toomies for barbq chicken pizza, and cold beer. Quote
