Dechristo Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Dude, just camp downtown and builder... that's all there is. Quote
catbirdseat Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 anyone know of any good backcountry cragging in washington? somewhere you can backpack in and camp - and do some cragging? i can come up with some in WY, CO, and ID - but couldn't for WA. Try Mt. Stuart. I hear that there are some long routes on it. It's quite a crag. Quote
fenderfour Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Isn't that called "alpine"? Â You could check out Washington Pass. uhhhh... Ingalls? Enchantments? Â All of them are multipitch trad routes to the top of a mountain, but hey, you could call it cragging. Quote
powderhound Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Look out in 11worth. look at icicle creek area. Quote
catbirdseat Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Well there are lots of possibilities in the Enchantments, Toketie/ Edwards Plateau. That's backcountry. Icicle Canyon is car camping. Quote
lost_arrow Posted August 16, 2006 Author Posted August 16, 2006 thanks - cathedral peak is a good idea and fits the bill, definitely lots of shorter crags in that area Quote
G-spotter Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Backcountry cragging is what they do in states where they don't HAVE alpine. Quote
G-spotter Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 You know, like that midwestern guy who thought he could make the FA on the East Face of Denali cause he'd done a bunch of winter camping. Quote
