olyclimber Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Be there, or be square. Colin, you should do one down in PDX too!
featheredfriends Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 August 23, 7:30pm, at Feathered Friends. This show will be free to the public. It will also be shown on the big screen in our new event room. See you there.
olyclimber Posted August 17, 2006 Author Posted August 17, 2006 This is next week, yo. Have you ever gone 4 days without sleep before?
DirtyHarry Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 I think that quote out of contextis misleading. Colin said thay had decent bivies the first two nights (and slept). The third night, they rested but didn't sleep. Whatever though. Still badass.
olyclimber Posted August 17, 2006 Author Posted August 17, 2006 ya, whatever. i like the out of context statement better. much more dramatic....Colin should just change his story.
DanielHarro Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Olyclimber- Do you know if Colin is coming down to pdx for a show? He should do it!!
Colin Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Hey Homeys, I didn't make the flier, and until you guys pointed it out, I hadn't realized that it was misleading in that respect. We definitely only went one night without sleep. On a side note, I think it is funny these days how much the media hypes going without sleep along with the whole single-push thing. If we were climbing for 4 days without stopping, wouldn't that just mean that we were actually climbing more slowly than if we had bivied twice? In my mind, if you are looking at times the only thing significant is roundtrip basecamp-summit-basecamp (and that means the tippy-top, not "we turned around at the end of the difficulties..."). Anyways, what's so hard about staying up for four days? All that takes is some cheap pharmies. Anyways, hope to see you guys there. Still trying to figure out what music to use... That's the real hard part. Daniel, I don't have any plans to do a show in PDX, although I could probably be persuaded since I'm driving down to CA in mid September anyways.
olyclimber Posted August 18, 2006 Author Posted August 18, 2006 true, meth and climbing have been mixed for ages now
