JasonG Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 Just wondering if anyone has been down the ledges recently . . .Thinking of taking my wife up the west ridge this week and was curious about conditions on the east side descent (still snowy??). I'm trying to figure out which descent she would find most "fun" this time of year . . .Any info would be appreciated!!!! Cheers, Jason Quote
Know_Fear Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 Hi, not sure why the west ridge has such a bad reputation for descent. There's a great series of rap anchors just west of the snow gully. There's also a great ascent just left of the snow gully. In fact, you can avoid the snow gully altogether. If you go down the E. ridge - let me know how conditions are. I might go up soon. Quote
JasonG Posted June 21, 2006 Author Posted June 21, 2006 I've done it a few times and I think the east ledges are a fine way down - I wasn't asking about people's opinion of the best way down, just wondering if there were still snow patches on the the ledges after the raps. Thanks for any info. Quote
Toast Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 the east ledges descent is never "fun" If your wife isn't comfortable on class 3 terrain, I wouldn't take her that way. One slip and it's a doosey of a fall Quote
JasonG Posted June 21, 2006 Author Posted June 21, 2006 Jeez people . . . . I appreciate your concern for my wife, but it would be nice if someone could actually answer my question! If you have been down the east ledges (or heard from someone who has) in the last couple of weeks, I would appreciate any info on conditions. If you haven't, please keep your random speculations to yourself. Thanks. Quote
