Jens
Any personal favorites? the highlander? copper creek? alexanders? Any mini-mart favs? In the park: Longmire? Paradise?
ThomasLBeaumont
Always the Highlander for post climb beers & burgers. Oberlander re-opend last year. Many said it was great in the past. We ate there twice last year. Food was def better than Highlander, but it's a bit more $ and doesn't have the hard guy, hole in the wall feel of the Highlander. Â Copper Creek for breakfast, fer sher.
Duchess
The Wildberry, which opened up last year, is pretty decent and much more reasonably priced than Copper Creek or the National Park Inn. I've only had breakfast there, because they don't serve beer.
faster_than_you
I'm not into the Wildberry. It's nothing compared to its former self, of great beer selection and cool meat and vegan food selection, w/ speciality canned jams, etc. Â When I was last there (and that was the first time too) we actually dried potatoes, canned corn, etc... After a helping of food that I would never actually bring climbing, they served up some Christian prayers and Psalms on little after dinner cards. Thank you very much, but I hate that shit. Â And Duchess is right, no beer. Â Food around Ashford, is, well, desperate... And let's just throw in Eatonville, Puyallup, and Spanaway. Kraken
beer is cheap at Suvers...if you like Rainier or a six pack of Miller tallboys. Speaking of which....
lankfactor
Get tall boys at Suvers, then drive to Scaleburger in Elbe. A cozy might be good so you can peacefully sip your can on the side of the highway while you munch the burg...
Chad_A
Doesn't scaleburger have really good shakes and/or malts? It's been since 2001 that I've been there, but I might have to make a return visit one day. Though, come to think of it, Copper Creek might have some kick ass shakes as well... mattp
I've always liked Scaleburger, and the collection of antique saws in the store next door is pretty cool.
