Jens Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 I saw a picture of the new Simond caribiners in a magazine. The design looks awesome and way different than anything else out there. Anybody use em'? It's to bad that Simond gear is so hard to get around here. All in all they probably have a better line of gear than say black diamond. Quote
G-spotter Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 They aren't new. I have had some for 3 years. They aren't hard to get either. MEC has tons. Quote

Gate open strength 8kn. Quote
billcoe Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 33 gms, gate open strength 10kn for the Wild Country VS only 8kn for the Simond. Quote
Blake Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Jens, no offense, but... are you crazy? Simond's product line better than BD's??? Quote
cj001f Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Simond's product line better than BD's??? Isn't BD just copying the entire Petzl/Charlet line? Quote
Jens Posted May 9, 2006 Author Posted May 9, 2006 Jens, no offense, but... are you crazy? Simond's product line better than BD's??? I'm serious. Quote
slothrop Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 They look like a keylock that weighs a lot and has a low gate-open strength. Why do you like them so much, Jens? Personally, this is my favorite Simond carabiner: Quote
EWolfe Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 The Helium looks sweeeeet! Maybe Jens has a lot of slung hexes and stoppers, and needs a smooth-nosed 'biner? Quote
