Peter_Puget Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 There's a JA war going on. Damn they were one rockin' band! Quote
Peter_Puget Posted March 14, 2006 Author Posted March 14, 2006 I'm glad you didn't say three and consider S rockin' Quote
roboboy Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 And I didn't say JS was a good rockin' band. Get JA After Bathing at Baxters, mono mix vinyl preferred - awesome. Quote
Peter_Puget Posted March 14, 2006 Author Posted March 14, 2006 JS did WR better than JA ever did but..... live JA is the best! I was listening to a 25 minute Spare Chaynge last night on the way home from work just last night. Baxter does rock. Quote
roboboy Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 I've got a few good quality live JA shows. If you're really into it PM me & I can mail out cdrs. Quote

mattp Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 I thought Blows against the Empire was an OK Jefferson Starship album. I also liked "Crown of Creation," from Airplane. In a similar vein, "If I could only remember my name" by David Crosby had several members from the Airplane, the Dead, Jorma Kaukonen, Joni Mitchell, etc... on it. These albums didn't have the rocking energy of 3/5 of a mile, though. Quote

I'm not a big Grace fan, but you gotta love naming a solo album "Manhole." Give me Balin anyday. Robo - What's the date of your fav live show or two? I have around 10 or so shows myself. Quote
archenemy Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 No more clever than "cockpit" (I'm working at the airport today, so bare with me) Quote
roboboy Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 fav live show or two? you have more than I do then, I recall I have one each 66, 67, 69 & 72 shows (I would have to check for exact dates) other than official releases . Monterey pop festival in 67 (official release) is good but short. It's all decent, can't pick a fav. The later shows like 69 & 72 were interesting because they were longer & they expanded their setlist which had been fairly constant through 67 & 68. JS was OK up until about mid 70s it seems. Quote
Gary_Yngve Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 No more clever than "cockpit" (I'm working at the airport today, so bare with me) I'll bare with you. Quote
