Dru Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 A car leaves Abbotsford at 6:30 and travels south at 120 km/h. What time does it reach Skull Hollow? Quote
AlpineK Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Please translate to english units. 99% of your trip is in the USA so show some respect. Maybe I should place a call to Homeland Security. They wont stand for this metric(French) bullshit. Quote
Dru Posted October 21, 2005 Author Posted October 21, 2005 I guess it depends if I go I-5 to Portland or over Snoq Pass and down via Crackima and Shaniko too. Quote
sobo Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 ...or over Snoq Pass and down via Crackima and Shaniko too. Don't go that way. Crackima is so ass... Quote
Dru Posted October 21, 2005 Author Posted October 21, 2005 Yeah but it's nicer scenery for driving than Centralia, Olympia and Kalama. Quote
AlpineK Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 WTF is Skull Hollow? The Grasslands not Skull Hollow Quote
sobo Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 It's also about 45 minutes slower. But it's still so ass. Dru apparently doesn't remember his thread about posing that question to us all. Quote
EWolfe Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 WTF is Skull Hollow? The Grasslands not Skull Hollow Shhhhh! I am sending Olyclimber to Skull Hollow! Quote
AlpineK Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 I like driving via Crackima, but I've got a big ass engine for all the hills in my truck. Quote
Dru Posted October 21, 2005 Author Posted October 21, 2005 It's also about 45 minutes slower. But it's still so ass. Dru apparently doesn't remember his thread about posing that question to us all. I remember getting lost in the Yakima ghetto for 45 minutes while looking for a Starbucks... I think Fern and I did a time trial once where she left Smith and came over Hood and up I5 and I left Smith and came up the 97 and then over Snoq Pass, and I passed her in Everett... I can't remember who left Smith first though. Or who stopped to do what along the way. It makes me think the inside passage is faster than I5 though. Also i always seem to get lost driving from Portland to Gresham. WTF? There is like one superhighway that suddenly turns into a dirt road, I swear. Quote
knotzen Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 How many hills do you *have* in your truck, AlpineK? Quote
Dru Posted October 21, 2005 Author Posted October 21, 2005 Hmm, revise that to "leaves Abbotsford at 7" I guess this way I mis Seattle rush hour anyhow. Quote
knotzen Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 So, I'm getting the picture that Skull Hollow is where y'all will be camping (and me too, if'n I can find ya). I don't see it on the map in the guidebook. Is it the state park? Or no? Por favor, directions to the plabby LoveFest. I'll bring homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast...? Quote
knotzen Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Never mind, I found it here: http://www.smithrock.com/localguide/campgrounds/sh_campground.html Quote
Dru Posted October 21, 2005 Author Posted October 21, 2005 "Leaves Abbotsford at 7:30"? Traffic must be bad or my passenger got lost. knotzen: drive East from Smith until you go past Lone Pine. In another few miles look for a FS Rec Site and huge bonfire off to your left. Quote
