Perhaps this is a test. He/She wants to see how you'll respond to the situation. I would advise you to stand your ground and don't give an inch. You may want to handcuff yourself to your ex-employee.

update:

 

Fifteen minutes ago my boss just sent me an email asking to meet in 20 minutes.

This is a followup to yesterday's communications where he emailed me asking to meet in the next two hours while I was out for the weekly bridge lunch. I replied to him after those two hours that I could meet with him the next day.

 

I refuse to bend from the "24-hour notice for meetings" rule.* He needs to be more responsible and organized than that.

 

* perhaps a variation of the "girl may only accept a Fri night date if asked earlier than Wed" rule

Sounds like it sucks to be you Gary!

 

Would you like to borrow my advisor too? He's nice, almost never on campus, and doesn't really know computer models. So he's not very helpful, and doesn't have funding, but is very easy to work with.
