OlyRob Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Im new to the area and looking for the Climbers Guide to Fossil Rock that went out of print in like 1840 or something. Does Anyone have a copy they are willing to sell or know where I can get one? Any help is appreciated! Quote
Szyjakowski Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 there is a copy of the guide in Smoots WA rock book. Quote
flashclimber Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 I've seen a copy of Fossil rock guide book at REI...think its $10.00....smoots should be good enough....U can reach Marlene Ford or Jim Yoder who authored the Fossil Guide...Yoder put most of the routes up in Fossil Rock Area. Look in their Vantage book for a contact (e-mail address)...Im sure they have a few copies of Fossil Rock Guide Book around...Or save some money and use the smoot book! Quote
OlyRob Posted July 18, 2005 Author Posted July 18, 2005 Thanks for your help guys, REI doesnt carry the thing anymore(According to the lady I spoke with on the phone). And even the one in the Mountaineers library is missing. Guess I will be going with the Smoots. Thanks again! Quote
bcollins Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Give Backpacker's Supply a call. They're on South Tacoma Way in Tacoma. That's Yoder's old hangout and he keeps 'em well stocked with his guidebooks. Quote
nalo Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 no, backpackers supply does not keep 'em well in stock. They had one store copy, and that was it. Quote

LUCKY Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 If you still can't find one, you can have mine. I know everything there and don't use it anymore. I could update it for you, some things have changed a little. Quote
