jordop Posted June 28, 2005 Author Posted June 28, 2005 Kevin McLane on a new route on Combatant: " . . . we clipped the odd cam left by what looked like epic descents off Skywalk . As we passed, we unclipped and kept the cams. Fat booty, we thought, until Robert Nugent showed up at my door a couple of months later to claim "his" gear. I had never thought a Scotsman could own so many cams." Quote
crazyjizzy Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Goddamnit! Those weren't Roberts, those were mine! It wasn't "epic" we got back to camp at 2:00am, just like everybody else. I didn't want to die, so AlpineK and I burned up some old cams. For fucks sake, I have been climbing for thirty years, and got a lot of older than shit gear. Quote
Dechristo Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 JZ, was that when you were there last July? Quote

The Epic was when me and CJZ had to haul all our crap down to Rainy Knob after 2 days stuck in a tent. Â I know Robert and Ade left cams while rapping the couloir, and we left a bunch more a few days later while rapping in the dark. At the time it seemed prudent. Â Robert's welcome to the cams though. CJZ, "borrowed," most of the ones we burned on descent from a friend of ours who has a long history of, "forgetting (until we found the gear on his rack)," to tell us that he had some of our gear from a previous trip. Â The way I figure it it's still a burn on TFM Quote
jordop Posted June 29, 2005 Author Posted June 29, 2005 "On the last day of our traverse, Mark crested over a false summit of Serra Three and yelled down with a deranged and excited look on his face, "Humans!" Quote
