mtn_mouse Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 While wallowing through the snowy Wallowa mountains a couple of weeks ago, I punched through the snow and sprained my ankle and knee. Now my knee is all puffed up. I tried advil, no luck. Any other miracle drugs out there, or maybe a heat wrap? Quote
AlpineK Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Just a thought, but you might want to change the title of this thread. I was expecting something else. Quote
Bill_Simpkins Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Same thing happened to my right middle finger from bowling over a month ago. I've iced it and pulled on the finger (keep it to yourself ) to try and realign it. The swelling has not ceased and the finger moves slowly. It sucks for playing piano or fingerpicking guitar. Is not getting any better. Quote
Dru Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Ice is only for short term treatment, to reduce swelling. After the swelling occurs, it will heal faster if you use heat, not cold. Quote
mtn_mouse Posted June 13, 2005 Author Posted June 13, 2005 Thanks for the advice/comments. I know with Viagra, swelling lasting over four hours is trip to the doctor. Surely a swollen knee can be tolerated for a longer period. Since it has been a while, I was inclined to use heat, but it does sound wierd, werd. Quote
