Slog Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 I heard from a friend that there is a 90 foot vertical section (actually 70 to 80 degrees) on the Ingraham Direct route at around 12,000 feet. That there is a solid Picket 90 feet up at the top. Does any one know if there is a way around? Is this the way RMI is taking this weekend (or Last). Anyone Summit via ID last weekend? Quote
sweatinoutliquor Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 Ummm... Who said that? Sounds like a bit spicy for the route and a RMI trip. 70-80 degrees would definetly involve a second tool or maybe a fixed line. Does that sound at all characteristic of RMI trips? I have no idea, as I have never climbed this route or been on a RMI trip. Quote

There's no way 7 RMI goats on a rope could get up, let alone downclimb that......... Â Gorgeous weather this week eh? Â Of course by the time we're out there on June 4th it'll be raining and snowing of course... Â -Fear Quote
eternalX Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 I was up there three weeks ago and got to 12,500 before turning around due to weather. There was no 90 degree section. Nothing even remotely close to that. Quote
Dan_Larson Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 Maybe they walked down a ramp into a crevasse and thought the other side was part of the route Quote
