glacier Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 Bob Bergman, former Canadian sportclimbing champ, finished the 2005 Paris-Dakar Race on a 660 KTM, unsupported (i.e. no chase truck, support crew, or significant corporate sponsorship). He finished 76th out of 104 finishers out of 230 starters. Approximately 30% of Dakar first-timers complete the race. Bob's webjournal Unfortunately, he does not mention what windshirt he wore, or if any particular NOLS course was critical in his completion of the race; however, he does have substantial outdoor industry experience as the owner of Joe Rockhead's climbing gym in Toronto. glacier Posted February 10, 2005 Author Posted February 10, 2005 I'm all about efficiency, although I neglected to post up a pic of Liberace, Richard Simmons, or a very large housecat. My bad. Quote
Dru Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 I thought this post was going to be about someone finding the Nodder. Quote

glacier Posted February 10, 2005 Author Posted February 10, 2005 could be a windshirt: And he didn't even take his dog. Quote
Alpinfox Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Covered a BUNCH of ground with that link, title and editorial! All that remains is for someone to mention a goat or sheep and we can pretty much put this thread to bed. Quote
