fenderfour Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 ...my emergency-crap-it's-raining thing, and also use it for alpine rock when it's windy. ...drC Windshirts are great for wind. Not so great for rain. I use a plastic garbage bag for my emergency-crap-it's-raining thing. Dirt bag baby, dirt bag.
John Frieh Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 I will not digress into a discussion on MT’s proposed layering system here as the kids are obviously restless and would love nothing more than additional material for continued needling. Go read it yourself and post questions if you have any. Anyways... if you are buying something for the wind don't bother with a wind shirt. Wind shirts (at least the ones you listed) aren't wind proof. And the wind shirts you listed will get eaten on fist – offwidth cracks. Take a dependable weather forecast over an extra “oh crap” layer… they weigh less. If you think you might get wet just change what you are going to climb in. Extra “just in case” layers will only slow you down so you do get caught in the approaching storm.
RuMR Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 How do you rip something on a fist crack? Plus, i never scrape up anything above my waist in offwidths...its just my pants that get worked...am i climbing them wrong? do i need to add more "thrutch" to get up them???????
Cobra_Commander Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 you are obviously wearing the wrong jacket
Dru Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 the kappa is cut extra short so it doesnt overlap as much with bibs. the hem is cut to ride above a harness. unfortunately this also make it look like you stole the jacket from an organ-grinding monkey. come to think of it maybe nolsE scraped up those 5oz. of holes in his jacket while grinding his organ.
