KaskadskyjKozak Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 WTF are you laughing at? I'm guessing you are in your 20's. Quote
minx Posted January 20, 2005 Author Posted January 20, 2005 i think you may need to work on your deductive reasoning skills. my comment was precisely the opposite. i disapprove of many of the images provided to children. i don't like disney. i do think content directed at them is oversexualized. my point was that spongebob is one of the less sexualized cartoons available. again, you miss the point. the spongebob video has nothing to do with sexuality. as far as teaching homosexual themes to children...they see all types of images in their daily lives. we should teach them to be tolerant of all of them. i suppose there was a time when people would've said "You can teach tolerance to elementary-aged children without bringing racial themes into the lesson" avoiding a topic isn't always right. chucK Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 You can teach tolerance to elementary-aged children without bringing homosexual themes into the lesson. The lesson can address differences in general - the application to specific differences will be crystal clear. I completely agree with this statement. How it applies to the original quoted story is not clear. I think you are confusing Spongebob teaching tolerance with a certain political party foisting the words "gay marriage" into every living room in America as a strategy to win an election. Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 i think you may need to work on your deductive reasoning skills. you think? you haven't demonstrated that to me yet. we can go tit for tat with petty ad hominem attacks all day, if you'd like "Minx". again, you miss the point. the spongebob video has nothing to do with sexuality. I have not seen the video. I'll judge for myself whether your claim is true or not, once (and if) I do. avoiding a topic isn't always right. It is not avoidance, but postponement of the overt discussion until an appropriate age - like middle school. Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 That would be a great learning aid for abstinence only education! Quote
Norman_Clyde Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 (edited) Does anyone remember when the Teletubbies were shown to be stealth promoters of homosexuality to kids, because the purple one carried a purse? Thank God Jerry Falwell exposed that horrid scandal. Clearly, where kids' cartoons are concerned, eternal vigilance is the price of moral purity. Edited January 20, 2005 by Norman_Clyde Quote

It was a little annoying that the people who make the Teletubbies chose to do put a tu-tu and a purse on a character who seemed male (but was probably more androgynous than male), but, on the balance, no big deal. DirtyHarry Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 You two would make a cute couple. Unfortunately you wouldn't be able to share eachother's wardrobe though. RUMR shops in the kids department and I bet KK has poor fashion sense. Quote
RuMR Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 thanks harry, mom and dad don't approve of her though... Quote

Ricardo_Montalban Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 you all are missing the real point here. what is spongebob? he's a sponge! what sex is a sponge?? NONE! they're asexual!! This shit needs to be banned NOW! Do you want these fucking freaks of nature shoving their asexuality down your throats?! your children's throats?! Soon, your children will be coming home to their parents saying, 'i don't like boys. i want to have babies by mitosis or gemmulation because that's how spongebob does it'. the all mighty god and his spokesman, GW, do not approve of this and neither should you. I am forming a group called "Families for Natural Fucking" with these two as cosponsors. believe me, i have had nothing to do since the election and i have plenty of time to take this issue to the forefront of national concern! Join me now! Quote
