Alpinfox Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 IT seems like Texplorer and a few of the other good booty-hounds could compile a nice rack just using free found gear! I have a complete set of BD/WC stoppers found one piece at a time. Best booty score...leaving $1,500 CASH in a travel wallet in the bathroom stall at the North Bend Texaco, then driving to Marmot before a flight to Thailand, reach for my wallet and...panicked call to Texaco and someone had turned it back in to the clerk, who thankfully had good morals. Damn! You lucky. Quote

Kevin_Matlock Posted December 10, 2004 Author Posted December 10, 2004 I've bought and used my fair share of used climbing gear! If it's been treated nice, then I don't see any problem with that. I normally keep it limited to metal items though... I try to steer clear of used "soft" gear like ropes/slings/harnesses/whatnot. Quote
specialed Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 This post was way better when it was about booty meaning sex. Who fucking cares who found a #2 Wild Country stopper on Outer Space. Everybody finds shit. Everybody looses shit. Get over it. Quote
swaterfall Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 Damn you ornrey! Best booty score... Wendy Spurlin. August 1997, she told me to meet her at her house at midnight. Sometimes bartending is a really good job. Quote
JETT Posted December 12, 2004 Posted December 12, 2004 A NICE NEW 60M ROPE OUT AT VANTAGE, ON SOME CHIMNEY ROUTE. HEARD HERE A GUY WAS LOOKING FOR IT. MET HIM IN A BAR, GAVE IT BACK, AND DIDN'T EVEN GET A BEER OUTTA THE DEAL. WHAT A SHITHEAD. MORAL: BUY GOOD SAMARITANS A BEER, OR THEY WILL NOT RETURN FUTURE GEAR TO YOU OR OTHERS. Quote
JosephH Posted December 12, 2004 Posted December 12, 2004 Oh, and a Suunto watch/altimeter out a Beacon this past year. Also, A visiting (and very harried) med student left a green Mammut Supersafe out at Beacon late this fall at the base of Free For Some if anyone found it he could really use it. Thanks. Quote
