matt_m Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Anyone know if this has been done or tried? A highly motivated friend of mine was starting to ask questions... Quote
lancegranite Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Justin S. gave it a look years ago... Quote
bigwalling Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 He better be a damn good climber! I've heard someone who knows Index very well, talk about how it would be real hard! Â Green Dragon would go free or really close to it. The is a bolt ladder spot that might be pretty hard. I bet the 3rd has been freed around 5.10. Quote
RuMR Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 if justin couldn't do it, i don't think i'd bother... Quote
lancegranite Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Freeing Town Crier would be the biggest thing to happen at Index in years... Go for it!! Quote
RuMR Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 yup...and it would probably require someone like justin to do it... Quote
MysticNacho Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Todd Skinner do it years ago? Quote
bigwalling Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 I beat you dru, punk, but someone beat both us Quote
Dru Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 I beat you dru, punk  And Rudy's big ass is sitting on top of you. Quote
MysticNacho Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 A little bird told me that Skinner did town crier on the same trip as he did city park. Â Looks like I'll have to shoot that little bird, shoot him dead. Twice! Quote
TimL Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 if justin couldn't do it, i don't think i'd bother... Â R - No offense, don't say something like that cause I call bullshit. Â Having been up there last week, I think the route will go at least to the bolt ladder. You might have to scratch around for features around the bolt ladder, or add a variation. I for sure think it will go, but it will be really, really hard. I say this because there are a lot of features to work with on the aid sections of the route. Granted, it'll take some time and be really, really hard. Quote
RuMR Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 i'm just saying that if justin actually went up there, scoped it out and decided "no way" that i wouldn't bother... Â jimeny the guy climbs 14b sport, and gr v 13c trad... Quote

Farrgo Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 When I did TC this spring, I was definately thinking about the potential of freeing it. I'm not up to the chore, yet, but if someone was motivated and strong I think it would go. I'm kind of surprised it hasn't been sent yet, especially with so much of the route having fixed gear. Quote
