Necronomicon Posted September 19, 2002 Posted September 19, 2002 I bought a pair of Beal 8.8(?)mm x 60m half ropes, they work the balls, but have a somewhat slick "hand", which can make rapelling a bit interesting for fat lodes like myself. Quote
rbw1966 Posted September 19, 2002 Posted September 19, 2002 Toss an extra biner in the mix and you're gliding smooth and slow. Quote
Cpt.Caveman Posted September 19, 2002 Posted September 19, 2002 I've climbed with 8 MM beals. Skinny fuckers were scary to rappell on but fine I supppose. I am fat too. Quote

Jeez, man, didn't you realize your GEAR question would be trumped by a much needed discussion between fat heads about fat asses? Â ANYWAY, I do not know where to get to get the Sterling ropes. I have some nice Beal half ropes. As Necronomicon has found, I, too, think they're a bit snakey on rappels, but I like 'em. A single line makes a good glacier rope as well, so think about getting at least one dry version. Quote
