I was talking with the head ranger on sunday before we left. Apparently "Heinrich Becky" has made quite the name for himself among the locals. It would seem the "Heinrich" is somewhere in the canyon everyday. At least twice a week he is seen climbing with his wife, who can apparently follow anything that "Heiny" can lead which according to the rangerman is in the area of .10d.

Heinrich Horsecock! Fantastic! [big Grin]

Yeah, great to meet you all; had a blast on Sat. Ropegun I am not - I'm sore as hell, actually.

Y'all let the newly expanded Bend contingent know if you're coming down this a way again.

Cheers, and happy HC hunting...

Thrutch. Heh heh. I love that term. Haven't ever heard it used by others though - where'd you get it from?

Oh yer a funny one.

I'm still werking it - I mean werking. Anyway, for reference, ladies night is tomorrow at the D. Could make a nice follow up to some $2 pints at the BBC, which in turn would be just the perfect finisher to a little TR thrutch session at Meadows...

Hm....

Oh yes, the new project. [Wink] Riiiiiiiiiiiiight.

I mean, right! What about that beauty line right next to the arete too? You know, the Heinrich Horsecock Hanging Handcrack? Boy I can't wait to slide my hand right into Heinrich's...uh...heh heh...[nervous cough]...[/nervous cough]

Ali, the D is actually not that scary. Not the classiest place in town, but not that bad either.

Not that I spend much time there. Really. No, really, I swear.

You guys should go to the Martini Bar and hang out with the old people. Have a Lemon Drop for me!

I believe the operative phrase regarding the D&D was ladies night. After a weekend full of circle jerking the horsecock, can you blame them?

On the other hand, Heinrich Horsecock might be a regular at the Martini Bar and have some good drink beta to share.

A gaggle of cc.com-ers descended on Smith this weekend. Sketchfest, Shredmaximus, Timm@y, jkreuger, FunGuy and Cletus were in attendance. Rock was climbed. Beer and HC was consumed. Some of us flailed and returned home beaten up and bloody. Special thanks to Tim and Becky for their hospitality and HC feast. No puppy porn, but plenty of foreplay. [Eek!]

Sorry to have missed the fun. I have an annoying tradition of going to Eastern Washington to buy vegetables around the second weekend in September. Processed 50+ pounds of tomatoes and other assorteds, and speculated in the chatroom as to what antics you clowns might be up to down in sunny Bend.

Yes Tim is a real guy, and a fun too. Becky's a fine lass, and then there's Chinook, and that little beotch Sierra!

Hear, Hear... as B-rock say's. A very special thanks to Tim and Becky for allowing such a groups as ours to descend on their home, feed us, beer us and all around make us feel at home.

Many routes were climbed, some hard, some easy and a few group projects were tried by all. It was definately nice to have multiple ropeguns: JKrueger, Funguy, Cletus, well basically everybody who was there except me. Very glad to meet a few more Oregon CC.com'rs. Thanks go out to everyone, I had a great time and look forward to some more climbing with folks.

In the mean time.. [rockband] on!

If it was us you were spying on the traverse you'll note my false start. Sure, its only 5.8 but its unprotected with a nice swing into the open book you just left. Very inspiring. I had to step back and see if I still had a sack. Much motivation from Winter got me over that hurdle--the rest of the pitch was easy. He had the 5.10a and did a most stylish lead. Winter is da man. We were there first thing in the morning, around 9:30 or so. The weather was purrrfect.

I was setting up on Lions jaw when you guy's were starting your climb. Very smooth, the two of you worked well together and it seemed like the climb went pretty quickly for you. Nice job, that's one I would really like to get on. I need bigger cajone's to get over the exposure.

now that sounds like a classic Smith session [laf][laf] nice to see you were motivated enough for the alpine start

Winter's a good guy to climb with. The exposure really wasn't too bad; the hanging belays sucked though. I got both of them but I can't complain too loudly since he had the crux pitches. the upper portions are fairly slabby. We thought a couple guys were behind us so we were trying to move efficiently so as not to slow anyone down.

The descent down cocaine gully sucks in tevas or climbing shoes. Carry approach shoes or be ready for sore feet.

Yeah we got the serious alpine start going for Smith. We even made coffee and performed morning ablutions.

Also saw 4 snakes later that afternoon walking back from Spiderman.

The highlight for me was the pile of pigeon shit I grabbed as I pulled onto the second belay station after the crux. mmmmmm. pigeon shit. really made me want to bite the rope for clips on the last two pitches. hope y'all had a good time last weekend.
