Anyone been out there to climb this summer and have a GENERAL idea of what's going on there with conditions on the snow / ice routes around the Parkway?

 

I'd post this on one of those Canadian boards like Live-The-Vision.com but people who read those are wanks and either don't know or don't tell.

didn't see the parkway, but I'd scratch any snow or ice routes off the list this summer. the mountains are falling apart. wear two helmets.

I heard somewhere about a "30 story high apartment building" sized rock falling off Oubliette in the Tonquin. I hope they like bouldering.

Why are they falling apart? Is this the same as the Mont Blanc situation? Subjectively, it seems like British Columbia is getting hit harder than other places when it comes to drought/glacial recession.

Because it's been amazingly hot out this summer and the glaciers are going bye bye. Stanley's north face glacier was so puny, i felt sick.

It looks a lot like last summer up there but without the smoke from all the fucking forest fires, not yet at least. Topping out on climbs with a headache from the smoke pretty much sucks ass. Good weather for rock routes though, as long as they're not falling apart while you are on them.
