Greg_W Posted August 13, 2004 Author Posted August 13, 2004 frankly what he did on a "swift boat" should have little bearing on what he does as president. I don't really care. I just want someone who will make some intelligent decisions himself. I want intelligent LEADERSHIP rather than some idiot puppet with a bunch of string pullers in the shadows. Â I agree, Iain. I've always wondered why Kerry is resting on the laurels of his four month command [b/] of a swiftboat in Viet Nam as his qualification to be a great president. But, ultimately, Kerry is the one touting his military service as his badge of honor so what does he expect but critical review of said service? I'd rather know what he's done in the last 20 years in Congress that makes him qualified; he must not be too proud of that part. Makes one wonder. Quote
foraker Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 And yet we elected George who also had a weak record of public service..... Quote
Ricardo_Montalban Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 You tell me. Which candidate stands for free speech?  DNC: http://www.skywriting.com/misc/pics/free-speech-pen/ Bush: http://www.amconmag.com/12_15_03/feature.html  and the answer is...neither Quote
Dru Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 http://climbing.com/news/takena/ Â Climbers for kerry plans a 3 week siege of the NA Wall with hundreds of climbers on the route! Â Quote
foraker Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 I have to admit, I'm not too happy with this idea. Then again, it's not like presidents and such haven't used our national parks to make political statements either (which is equally lame). Quote

assmonkey Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 I knew that org was trouble when I first saw the bumper stickers. What a bunch of fucking douchebags. I'll say it again, keep your shitty political identity out of my favorite pastime. Â I don't see "football players for Bush" or "volleyball players for Kerry." Â Assholes. Â - a s s m n k e y Quote

Alexey Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 "Swift boat veterans" ad is a complete fabrication. here are some articles: http://www.nytimes.com/2004/08/20/politics/campaign/20swift.html?ex=1250654400&en=8afa4fded4046b86&ei=5090&partner=rssuserland http://www.washingtondispatch.com/article_9851.shtml http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/1092941686442_88350886/?hub=TopStories Also Kerry was man enough to condemn the MoveOn ad for going over the top. Unfortunately there is already another one from vet liars that is even worse. Â Any informed person with a brain and a heart should vote for Kerry, or at least against Bush. John Kerry has a Plan to Give Tax Breaks to Corporations who Keep their Companies in the U.S. Kerry is a thinking man, that knows that most political issues are complicated (nuanced). Also he realizes that rich can live without tax cuts, but the rest of us might actually need it. And health care should be a right not a luxury. And here is an article that says that he will most likely win: http://www.abc.net.au/correspondents/content/2004/s1176250.htm ____________ Support the Change Quote
