Double_E Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 Dave S. & myself are gonna ski it on Memorial Day (5/31) if the weather's good. Anyone else?? Will probably crash somewhere in the White River valley the night before, get the drive outta the way. Quote
Beck Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 if the weather's good, count me in. How about going right to the snow the day before? Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 Ah... I was going to call you... Realy want to check it out. Anybody else? Quote
neversummer Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 I might be up for it as well... gotta check on some other "commitments" first though. Quote
jonthomp Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 I'll probably be up there Saturday (may head north to something like Tomyhoi instead). I was looking at some recent photos of the Burroughs (from 5-12). Lots of snow and some good lookin' lines. The photos are on the main page at: Â http://www.turns-all-year.com Quote
fleblebleb Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 Looks fun, too bad I prolly have to be in town Sunday night. Quote
Beck Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 i'll haul in the pony keg if enough people want to go... Quote

Double_E Posted May 21, 2004 Author Posted May 21, 2004 get the drive outta the way  Any idea where one can drive to? Into the White River Campground yet?  There's a few different campgrounds to choose from along hwy 410.. some USFS, some State Parks I think. could be crowded or even full, being Mem. Day weekend, but fuckit.. where there's logging roads, there's "poachable" camping. We'll find something. Quote
jonthomp Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 We're just getting an early start Saturday and not bother with camping. Our goal is to ski from as high up Little T as possible and maybe have lunch at its summit. We'll see what the weather has in store. May have to plan B it. Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 I can go any day that weekend. Camping or no camping I don't care. Quote
Dr_Crash Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 I'd be interested (and do have glacier travel experience). Any more info on the tour? Â drC Quote
jonthomp Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 (edited) My friend and I haven't sorted out leave times, but our plan is Sat. up Little T as high as feel like going, weather permitting. Otherwise will have a backup in the area. Here's a link to an old TR of the same trip--  TR on Cascde classics.org  link fixed by snoboy Edited May 22, 2004 by snoboy Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 (edited) The link doesn't work [does now]. A friend suggested MT Aix east of Chiinook Pass above Bumping Lake. Edited May 22, 2004 by snoboy Quote
Beck Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 route info: from 410, slog, slog, slog, slog, ski, repeat slog out Quote
jonthomp Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 A friend suggested MT Aix east of Chinook Pass above Bumping Lake. Â As a main objective or plan B? Â Are people interested in trying to hook up at a trailhead Sat. morning, early? Quote
jonthomp Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 It's not Thursday yet, but my partner has to bail for this weekend so I am open to just about anything. Primary objective now--find turns, anywhere, anyhow. Quote
Skinveen Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 Anyone still thinking of Fryingpan Glacier this weekend? I'm in need of some turns and all my usual cronies are out of town. Weather permitting I would love to tag along for a ski Quote
jonthomp Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 I am going to get out somewhere on Saturday. Pretty sure the weather won't be cooperating for getting up Little T, so have all but abandoned that plan. I'm game for whatever though. Mt. Aix, Frying Pan Glacier, other ideas? How about the rest of you? Quote
