klenke
Glad you were able to resolve the issue. I guess just as some people can be tone deaf, others can be mountain blind. They couldn't tell the difference between a mountain and a highway embankment. Teacher may not be stupid in general just not savvy with respect to landscape identification. Well, for sure, a is not a

Scott_J
Lets see...I have seen a post card of Shuksan in a store Bishop, CA (1970s) that stated it was a mountain in California. Mt. Shuksan also appeared in the background shot during a deer-hunting segment in the Deer Hunter. The story line was supposed to be SE Ohio during this segment of the film with the remainder of the film supposedly being shot in Viet Nam. I believe because of the inherent beauty of Mt. Shuksan greeting card, post card companies and others take liberty with its actual geographic location. But this does not release the error of the original thread to poetic license with regard to the correct location in a textbook entitled Geography of Washington. ashw_justin
Here is a postcard showing Mt. Shuksan, backward. I have often wondered if the boat may have been cut and pasted into the image - how deep is that lake? The woman in the beer and postcard store in Maple Falls insisted this postcard was real and accurate.
