glacierdog Posted October 14, 2003 Posted October 14, 2003 So I went to Trier this last weekend, ended up wandering into this ancient church that had the robe of Christ on display. There were two distinct halves to the structure, one being constructed in medievel times and the other built when the romans occupied the city some 2000 years ago. It was really quite impressive. snoboy Posted October 14, 2003 Posted October 14, 2003 Being in Europe really makes you feel like you just got here, don't it? Quote
iain Posted October 14, 2003 Posted October 14, 2003 no kidding, when you walk up stone steps that have huge u's in them from the thousands of years of people walking on them... it's like the smoothed-out pin scars on Peking at Smith Quote
glacierdog Posted October 14, 2003 Author Posted October 14, 2003 It really does. I was looking at a plaque that had the names of every archbishop (?) that resided in that church, and it goes back to the 700's. Pretty wild. Quote
RobBob Posted October 14, 2003 Posted October 14, 2003 hey, glacierdog, that's a beautiful place. You may be in the best area in the world for enjoying autumn, IMO, if the weather is nice. I'd trade trask's left nut to spend a day enjoying the the scenery along the Mosel this time of year. Quote
Scott_J Posted October 14, 2003 Posted October 14, 2003 Is Trask allowed to do that RobBob or will he get banned? Quote
