catbirdseat Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 Do we have any folks coming who can play guitar? It would be cool to make some music. Quote
Crackbolter Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 I'd play my guitar if there were more musicians to join in. I play mostly bluegrass and folk though. You know, fiddles, bass, banjo, mandolin, dobro, etc. I can flatpick fiddle tunes and improv just about anything. Quote
vegetablebelay Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 I think there's gonna be a DJ there playin' hits from the 80's like Tone Loc's Wild Thang. Quote
hikerwa Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 there will not be a dj. Â there may be some music until 10ish. Â I might bring my own guitar, I think that would be better that cd's. I would encourage others to bring instruments as well.Nothing like a cool impromtu folk jam! Â Â Quote

Distel32 Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 I love bluegrass, but the roots and del kick ass as well Quote
Mr._Natural Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 Â if i'm there i'll bring the ol 5 string. Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 Please God, no "jams"! Â There's nothing worse than a bunch of hippies who think they have an iota of musical skill banging out a bunch of discordant, arhythmic caterwauling for hours on end. Just because you have a drum does not mean you have rhythm, and just 'cause you have a guitar or the like doesn't mean you play it well enough to make anyone else want to hear it. Kapish? Â Unqualified guitar slingers will have their instruments dispatched a-la Animal House. Quote
erik Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 sphinx that explains partially what is wrong with you. Â Â Quote
Crackbolter Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 (edited) Â Quit whining! No one said anything about drums. Edited October 1, 2003 by Crackbolter Quote
Pencil_Pusher Posted October 3, 2003 Posted October 3, 2003 (edited) When cbs and I were at Vantage, we met some guys from MT, one of whom played some sort of funk-rock on his guitar, intermittently stopping his singing and playing to spit some of his chew before continuing. Incidentally, that same weekend I said howdy to Figger8 whom always seems to climb with some fine chiquitas, both times I've seen him. As for music at this ropeup, I recall getting the late-hour lecture from the local deputy about how 8-mile should be quiet after 10pm. Maybe Gustavs? Just read the sticky on needed items for rope-up. Sheeit, y'all better bring a few boxes of ammo or some sweet talking ladies to bribe senor deputy! Edited October 3, 2003 by Pencil_Pusher Quote
PONCHO&LEFTY Posted October 3, 2003 Posted October 3, 2003 those who posted SLAYER (by the way there latest rulz) and Old in the Ways are cool. Panama Red? Can't beat it. Quote

So you'd rather have "canned" music rather than the real thing. By the way, I CAN sing in in tune. Quote

catbirdseat Posted October 3, 2003 Author Posted October 3, 2003 I was speaking for myself. You don't like my singing? I'm crushed. Quote
