maryk
This is true? Thinking about trying to get out there before the month is up, and this bit of information would help in the planning. Thx ~~ maryk

JoshK
The next few weeks are actually very popular in the enchantments due to the larchs turning...
maryk
Yeah, the larches, that's why I want to go too, plus I haven't climbed up in there yet either. Well crap, but thanks for the info Eric. Maybe I'll just have to sneak in....
klenke
Most of the larches in the Enchantments aren't very cowardly right now. Not many are yellow. Looks like a couple of weeks from now they should really be primed with that monochromatic zinc chromate look. They'll kowtow eventually. Just as soon as I get it scanned and hosted on a secret server I will provide the link.
JoshK
I went in before the permits experied a few years back and didn't get harassed by anybody. I wonder if it had anything to do with the 70mph winds and snowstorm we had to endure??
Freeman
Only a self register day permit needed for a day hike into or thru the Enchantments. A nice way to do it this time of the year if you don't want to climb anything (other than Little Annapurna or Enchantment Pk).
ken4ord
Hmm, I don't recall ever needing a permit, but maybe that is just me. the FS and their rules. As long as you are good about taking care of the land you play in.
Greg_W
Don't need one, period. Bivy sack and some savvy traveling and you're good.
Cpt.Caveman
The "permit" season lasts until Oct 15 according to website info. http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/wenatchee/district/leav/enchantment-permit-app.pdf
