Gary_Yngve Posted September 2, 2003 Posted September 2, 2003 Are there any parts of the Cascades that are smoke-free? My parents are coming into town in a couple days, and I want to take them somewhere... thinking about besieging S Ridge of Ingalls. It's especially important that I find a smoke-free place; otherwise my Jewish mom will complain incessantly and make me feel guilty for making her nose act up. Quote
lummox Posted September 2, 2003 Posted September 2, 2003 dude. i thought you was asking sometime bout cigarettes. Quote
marylou Posted September 2, 2003 Posted September 2, 2003 Middle Fork is all nice and good. Matter of fact the whole west side of the ALW is good. Quote
Ursa_Eagle Posted September 2, 2003 Posted September 2, 2003 I can't necessarily tell you where's good, but you'll prolly want to avoid Cascade Pass... lots of smoke there right now. Quote
Craftmatic Posted September 2, 2003 Posted September 2, 2003 Muir hut is rumored to be smoke-free on occasion. Quote
dkemp Posted September 2, 2003 Posted September 2, 2003 I thought you meant cigarettes too! Dont take her to Icicle Canyon - Square Lake fire is making the valley kinda (cough) smokey. Quote
Smoker Posted September 2, 2003 Posted September 2, 2003 I thought for minute, he was talking about me Quote

I just spent the last 4 days in the Ingalls area and it's like being in a smoke filled bar. It's not a good destination choice right now if you want to impress someone with the beauty of the Cascades. Quote
