Tool
I'm buying a new bivy sack. My options are a regular size, fits up to 6'1"; or the long version, fits up to 6'6", or something like that. I'm 5'6" tall. Is there an advantage to buying the long version or should I get the regular size? TIA.
erik
if you are that short then no i put my clothes and boots in my long bivi sack and i am 6'. longer=more wieght(not much tho!!) and increased packing size.
catbirdseat
It's a no brainer. Get the small one. It will weigh less, and keep you warmer. I am 6'2" and use a standard size bivy.
Toast
you'll also stay warmer in a bag that fits you.

Tool
Thanks, everyone, for the replies. I went down to PMS and picked up a regular sized bivy sack. Good points by all. Thanks again.

Whatever you might put in the foot of your bivvy sack can just as easily spend the night in a garbage bag outside.
