Dylan Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 Looking for a pristine alpine lake setting, preferrably N. Cascades, for basecamp to easy class 5 climb with broad views to take my lady for the weekend. Anyone have any favorites?? Quote
erik Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 camp at blue lake and then climb something on the southern aspects of the liberty bell group. remember you are not allowed to camp at blue lake!! Quote
erik Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 camp at ingalls lake and then climb the e ridge of ingalls the next day. or the same day and then camp and then hike out. or there is a little tarn on the w side of ingalls which you get from continuing up the esmarelda trail head. you could also traverse all 3 peaks of the ingalls group. Attitude Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 erik said: camp at ingalls lake and then climb the e ridge of ingalls the next day. I thought there was no camping at Ingalls Lake as well. There are multiple routes up on Ingalls - SW ridge (scramble ish), S Face, E ridge (one 5.5 move w/ exposure) and a route up the east peak. See Beckey for details. I was up on Ingalls pass last Sunday and only saw one team of four heading up. Quote
erik Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 YUP CAMPING THERE IS ILLEGAL.... BUT ON SNOW I DONT THINK IT MAKES MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE..... AND YES ALMOST ALL HIGH LAKES ARE STILL SNOW COVERED. I SAY JUST GO AND EXPERIENCE THE PLACE IN A DIFFERENT SETTING. Quote
