dryad Posted April 16, 2003 Posted April 16, 2003 Hey anyone want to go to Leavenworth on Sat? I'm pretty openminded - happy to follow trad, just toprope, whatever, as long as it's not too hard. Quote
david77 Posted April 17, 2003 Posted April 17, 2003 hey, I was wondering if you are going to leavenworth, I'd like to go, my email is david77@collegeclub.com thanks. Quote
dryad Posted April 17, 2003 Author Posted April 17, 2003 Looks like it's turning into a full-weekend trip leaving Fri evening. PM me if still interested. Quote
Gordonb Posted April 17, 2003 Posted April 17, 2003 We are thinking about going the next weekend. Anyone have any beta about the camp areas or snow coverage on the routes? Quote
erik Posted April 17, 2003 Posted April 17, 2003 EVERYTHING SOUTH FACING IS GOOD TO GO! CAMPING...ITS PUBLIC LAND CAMP WHERE YOU WANT AS LONG AS YOU PARK ON THE CREEK SIDE AND CAMP ON THE UPHILL SIDE. FUCK THE TOOL! Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted April 17, 2003 Posted April 17, 2003 Just go far enough up the road, where it turns to dirt. The tool never goes that far. Quote

erik Posted April 17, 2003 Posted April 17, 2003 I DONT THINK THE CAMPGROUNDS OPEN TILL MAY15 OR SOMETHING, BUT I MAY BE WRONG. YOU CAN USE THE 8 MILE CAMPGROUND. JUST PARK ALONG THE ROAD AND WALK IN. ALSO BRIDGE CREEK IS ALWAYS OPEN BUT IS 1ST COME 1ST SERVE. Quote
Geek_the_Greek Posted April 18, 2003 Posted April 18, 2003 You guys are talking about the car-camping spot (8-mile), yes? It was fully open last weekend, complete with fascist campground hosts, fees, big RV's, mounties in the group campsite and everything. Quote
MysticNacho Posted April 18, 2003 Posted April 18, 2003 I was there tuesday-wednesday, all the campgrounds (maybe not tumwater?) should be open. Routes are dry, almost all the snow is up in the mountains, LEAVENWORTH IS IN SEASON! Quote

Gary_Yngve Posted April 18, 2003 Posted April 18, 2003 And in season for Mountaineers, who will try their best not to pour down cliffs. Intermediate Rock 2 is this weekend, so expect roughly half the class the first day and the other half the second day spread around on 5.4-5.6ish multipitch climbs. We won't be on single-pitch stuff, and we won't be on hard stuff, and we'll be starting pretty early in the morning, so hopefully most of you won't notice. Quote

Sorry, you guys are hard to miss. When I look up to a bluff and see that many climbers in one place, I assume that it is either the Mountaineers or a major accident/rescue. Whenever the former is correct, I avoid the area since the latter also is likely to be correct. Quote
