Lambone Posted February 10, 2003 Posted February 10, 2003 Everytime I go look for good deals on climbing gear on ebay I run accross a Ninja grappling hook, or climbing claws... Thats some funny shit... Quote
iain Posted February 10, 2003 Posted February 10, 2003 sorry dude, the business is washed up and I'm just trying to make some cash. Quote
Dru Posted February 10, 2003 Posted February 10, 2003 THIS STUFF would make for some pretty good Ninja gear. Quote
North_by_Northwest Posted February 11, 2003 Posted February 11, 2003 I know someone who has a hook, he's used it for buildering. Apparently it works great. Quote
Dwayner Posted February 11, 2003 Posted February 11, 2003 Dwayner studied Dux Ryu Ninjitsu for a few years. We trained with traditional weapons and other devices and they served remarkably well for learning how to improvise with everyday objects. Modern ninjitsu would swap out traditional tabi boots with modern footwear such as rock or approach shoes for its climbing purposes. Some people like them grappling hooks but I would prefer to climb a solid drain pipe myself. Traditional hand claws: Traditional foot spikes: "the hook": Frank Dux, and this guy here too, could kick ALL of our butts. (Haven't seen either of them climb, though). Quote
fleblebleb Posted February 11, 2003 Posted February 11, 2003 What if the drain pipe were bolted to the wall Dwayner? Never know when you're joking btw Quote
cracked Posted February 11, 2003 Posted February 11, 2003 Then you have to chop the drainpipe! Those damn sport drainpipeclimbers! Quote
Dwayner Posted February 11, 2003 Posted February 11, 2003 What if the drain pipe were bolted to the wall Dwayner? Answer is obvious, Young Grasshopper: brick and concrete are artificial, just like them gyms. Never know when you're joking btw Let me clarify a few things: a) I think sport-climbing is weak and I think bolts should be used sparingly at best. b) I did study Ninjitsu and yes, Frank Dux and Soke Hatsumi could indeed kick ALL of our butts. Lambone Posted February 11, 2003 Author Posted February 11, 2003 You know old dwayny, I'm so tempted to edit that post to say, "I worship the ground that sport climbers walk on and hope Erik will teach me how to use his Bosch soon!" But I'll refrain. Aloha Quote
fleblebleb Posted February 11, 2003 Posted February 11, 2003 Dammit. That edit would have been sooo funny... Quote
fleblebleb Posted February 11, 2003 Posted February 11, 2003 That's Dwayner alright. I always thought of him more like a pirate though. Quote
