The south used to be a solid democratic strong hold until the Johnson administration. Then the leaders of the democrats started promoting affirmative action and desegregation. After that racist democrats became republicans and the south became a lot more republican. I'm sure you could site poeple like Sen. Byrd as examles that don't fit my description, but for the most part I'm right.

Well I'd say any politician that was active in the south prior to the 70's probably had to be a racist or at least be buddies with racists. I've worked in the Highlands and the Seattle Golf Club. I met a lot of rich republicans but no black folks.

Define awesome. High Campbell isn't open, North and South Back are closed. In addition there are a lot of boulder fields that the runs are on, so you need a big base before you can stop worrying about core shots. Also they don't lower lift ticket prices unless they are hurting. It doesn't sound like it could be that awesome unless you don't ski anything harder than blue squares.

I liked one of your last posts on the subject Fairweather. Keeping a critical eye towards scientific studies is a good thing. Anyway I'm totally down with what Trask says. Arguing is fine, bullshit can be funny, but freaks like Mtn Goat and J B (to a lesser extent) make arguing fucking boring. I mean the issue may be complex, but if you can't keep your replies short and to the point then nobody will read your posts, but everyone will think you're a tool.
