  1. Ok here's another spot Al's on 45th in Wallingford. Beer is cheap, there's no food, but Dick's is just down the street.
  2. The Pyramid place is right next to Safeco field. I've never been there, but a number of folks on this board think it's a good spot to drink. I agree with how you rate Pyramid beer. If you want a real fight then someone needs to come up with an alternate location and then get a posse to back them up.
  3. Well logging roads are a perfect place for a sled.
  4. I'm against banning them , but they have overrun huge areas of the mountains. In the case of our recent trip, we were skiing into an area where 5 years back snowmobilers didn't go. We were not expecting them at all.
  5. My basic point is bc skiing and snowmobiles are incompatible. Some kind of restrictions need to be put in place in the Whistler-Pemberton area, or soon the only folks out in the mountains will be sledheads.
  6. We haven't had a good smack down between skiers and snowmobilers for a while. On a recent trip up to Canada Jordop and I skied into a basin that we thought would be free of snowmobilers only to find a herd of 15 of em. They were noisy and they stunk up the whole basin. I fully expect to see snowmobiles on logging roads and other areas below tree line, but I think the high alpine environment is no place for big noisy machines. At the very least the use should be restricted to a few areas. This isn't a huge issue in Washington State, however the alpine terrain in BC is being overrun. Backcountry skiers take advantage of cars and trucks, but they leave them behind. One of the great things about bc skiing is to experience the silence of the mountains in winter. In reality there is no way that snowmobiles and skiers can use the same areas. In the case of the Whistler-Pemberton area. There are huge areas, with good bc skiing, where nobody will go skiing because they are overrun with snowmobiles. Just because you motorheads can go anywhere doesn't mean you should go anywhere.
  7. Last week at the Alki was fun. This week we could go to someplace like the Pyramid Brewery, or someplace else.......

    I Hate You All

Absolutely not. In fact if you want to meet and compete with a bunch of other idiots you've come to the right place.
  9. Matt P, his friend, and I skied up Hidden Lakes Peak today. We left Seattle at about 5:45. The skies were clear as a bell as we drove up the Cascade River Road. I was a bit apprehensive about avalanche danger since we could see big snow plumes blowing off the peaks as we drove. Matt got his Subaru within a mile of the trailhead before the snow put an end to driving. We skinned up the road and then the trail. Eventually we left the trees behind. We could still see huge snow plumes blowing off the ridge above; it seemed like we would end up skiing some runs in the trees. We continued skiing up through a fresh avalanche track. Eventually we reached the top of the avalanche path and started traversing. The snow seemed ok, so we kept going up. After a while we decided we would stop at a rock in the sun and eat lunch, however, when we reached the rock the slopes above looked good. We ended up on top of Hidden Lakes Peak with a light breeze and fantastic views of the Cascade Pass area. Skiing down was Fun+. We ended up in some tight trees before we reached the creek, but the snow was better as we got lower. Overall this was the best day of BC skiing I’ve had all season.
  10. Winter is finally here. It probably won't last long. Skiing in the backcountry is really good now!!!!!!
  11. Exactly
  12. Good luck finding a partner. Next time try posting in the partners section.
  13. Don't worry about firewood Dave. The portapotty would be a good thing to do. I'm sure we could get one dropped off easy.
  14. I think the whole point of this thing is a party with skiing. I like ski camping, but I don't consider it a good party environment. Smithbrook might make a good destination, but for a true party with skiing, waiting till later in the year and a cabin would be better. Also what's up with trying to get two events together. You're just going to dillute the event.
  15. Ok let's get back on subject. Dave Parker are you 100% on this cabin thing? I can bring a bunch of firewood if there's a place for a bonfire. One of the other key issues is beer.
  16. It's been my experience that changing someones basic political beliefs is next to if not completely impossible. I like arguing for fun and to cause amusing stress among others. This is a climbing board after all not a serious forum for political discourse. Dwayner, You should thank me for my rants. I've shut up all the folks with real issues with you. You're a funny guy.
  17. STFU Dave either you're with the plan or you're against it. If you want to go up Smithbrook then start peddling.
  18. Dr Don My assignment for you is to reread all of my posts. After you've done that please write a short paper on my motives. Please contrast what I've said with reallity and show the link. 500 words hand written and due by noon tomorrow.
  19. Now is not the time to get all sensitive and shit. You started this silly thread I'm just adding to it.
  20. Death to snowmobile loving, gun toting, antienvironmental, war loving, Bush brown-nosing Fucks. Especially those that went to school at that fucking hellhole WSU.
  21. Me, too, AlpineK. I knew we could find a common ground somewhere.
  22. I'm also against gun wielding hillbillies from the skykomish valley.
  23. I'm not antisemetic; I'm anti Dwayner
  24. I don't care how smart Dwayner is he must be stopped
