  1. Excellent, that's what I was hoping to hear.

I'm told by a guide friend that snow cover will make my rock protection pretty much useless on those climbs. Can ya'll (guess where I'm from?) confirm that for me? My partner and I are bringing six pickets between us to protect the snow-covered areas. Should that be enough?

Is it worth bringing more than a couple ice screws? I've got a 22cm for v-threads and a 16cm "just in case."

If you are doing the standard routes on those peaks you can definitely get by with no rock pro, no screws and a couple of pickets.

  2. people should leave other peoples shit alone regardless of their spelling habits

Nobody took the quick draws because they knew the owner had a 3rd grade education. They took the quick draws because they assumed they were abandoned. Honest mistake I am sure.

  3. hi my name is daniel patrick smith. i took the draws when i onsighted porn star. i thought they were left by someone epicing big time. i am sponsored by petzl. they go nice with my other gear.

  4. Hello,

I am hoping to head into the mountains this weekend. If the weather is good I'd like to do something on Rainier or maybe ski something at Cascade Pass. If the weather is inclement I'd like to do something on the east side, maybe ski up Little Annapurna or climb Ice Cliff Glacier. I am open to ideas and very suggestable. If interested email bighurtbob@hotmail.com.

    Dan

  5. i've been wondering, was he born 'stim bullitt" or was that a nom de guerre or somethign? a totally badass name for a badass climber!

I briefly dated a gal who was Stim's god daughter. She referred to him as "Stimmy". Decidedly less bad ass.

  6. if you have ideas for helping raise the cash to buy the place for climbers (perhaps eventually ending up as a state park with protections to preserve climbing), please share them.

Has anyone looked into doing a Transfer of Development Rights? There are a number NGOs (Cascade Land Conservancy comes to mind) as well as the County that might be willing to pay for the development rights, thus devalueing the land enough to be purchased for park land or whatever. Just a thought.
